West Africa is starting to come into its own now. I have no chance of understanding what is going on now without understanding where its people came from. Great piece, and nice photos, too.
I'm an artist and curator in New York and there is a gallery here, Dorsey Fine Art that was started a long time ago, and the owner placed an African sculpture into the central wall. It's origin wasn't available to him at now his granddaughter is running the gallery and doesn't know how to identify the piece.
